I lived in Great Barr, Birmingham, during the Second World War, and had the same experiences as many of the "children of the war" in that era. I was not quite nine years old when the war ended in Europe. Now, somewhat older, I am a retired newspaper editor in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the east coast of Canada. I am interested in learning more details of wartime experiences of children in my hometown, and will be writing an article on a German prisoners' camp that was outside our backyard/garden. Memories are tricky but I hope to find out how accurate mine are! David Trenbirth, Nov. 12-05, Halifax NS, Canada.
