About the contributor

I was born in 1944 so I do not have any personal recollections.

My father however was a glider pilot and took part in many operations in Sicily, Italy and Yogolsavia as well as in North Africa. He recorded most of his exploits and his account of certain operations will, I hope, be added to this website in due course. His name was Capt. Cornelius Turner of 1st Independant Squardon, Glider Pilot Regiment.
