In 1988 an article was front page news about my wife and I in a national newspaper, I have it here, a BBC producer phoned me for an interview, so did womensreach/realm and a ghost writer, I refused them all because I did not want to upset my wife. Questions were asked in Parliament, the law was changed, I like to think I did some good, so in a way by refusing the BBC an interview it is a small reward to the BBC by writing these articles.

P.S. My name is F Bennet and I'm in the pub with my friend who is a reporter, and a barman called Andy.

Another little tit-tat, I was driving in Germany when I passed what I thought was a school, lots of people were at the fence all dressed in striped flannel pyjama material. We stopped overnight in a chapel-like building near school in which was a small organ. One of my mates could hear it, so we just went outside and stayed dancing all night, then came the women, there was no dancing. Most days we got a trailer, put it on the car, towed it behing a tank, soon was told to "get it off". After the war, when demobbed I realised it was a concentration camp I saw, the pulic must have known.
