A Little Light Humour

My mother was in the WVS for all of the war and spent some time in the blitzed areas of London in a canteen.

However, this story occurred nearer home. She was issuing ear plugs early on in the war, and had gone up one road and half way down another, when an elderly gentleman said plaintively, "I do have two ears, you know." You can guess what she had been doing.
