The Regt were stationed in the old Chinese high school on Singapore island. the date was after the Japanese had surrended in 1945.
A section of 10 men of which I was a member were insructed to embark on an old japanese vessel and proceed to the nothern tip of Sumatra and take the surrender of japanese troops.
We were under the command of Lt Weightman and I was second in command with the rank of Sgt.
