I will never forget the terrible air raids over Harrow (where i lived)and Uxbridge(where i was teaching) i was always on alert, especially for my pupils. When the bombing was particularly bad i would often have to take all the children to my home and wait for their parents to collect them. One day my own roof was bombed i will never, never forget that awful time.
