Frequently German bombs were dropped which didnt explode.
In a house along the main road of Hook a two thousand pound bomb was dropped and didnt exploded. To avoid vibration cars and buses were sent along a country lane to later join the main road further along. as the lane was narrow, with ditches either side, a bus fell into the ditch and there it stayed for a while.
I pressume that the bomb was diffused!
