During the war my father gunner William (Bill, Ginger or Nodder)Curtis from Leicester with some friends pulled a young Belgian child from some ruins. The girl had been injured and my father and friends befriended her, visiting her until she was well.
The girl used to write to my father after the war (I was not born yet), I would love to hear from the girl if she reads this.
My father informed me he saw the German boxing champion at a station in Germany (I think) it was either Max Schmelling or Max Baer.
It would be nice for the younger generation (including myself ) to remember everyone who participated or was involved directly or indirectly in the war.eg a lot of families were split up for years or forever.
