I was stationed in London in Mill Hill on HMS Pembroke3 next door there was a REME
depot and a U2 landed in March 1945. We spent VE Day - which fell on a Tuesday -in hospital. The previous night there had been a thunderstorm. The naval nurses went to Westminster Abbey to the special service and brought 10 G.I's back with them, who cleared the flower stall and brought flowers to us.
