My Memory of VE Day

That the weather was hot and fine. There was a celebration in the evening with a bonfire and some fireworks. I lived in Rye then and one memory that sticks is that a boat was burned. Later on that year I made my first communion and that was on Christmas Day. We had a party too. I was 7 when that happened.
