We were instructed to look for mines that had broken loose. I was on Huff and Duff which was an early form of Radar. The next I knew was a mine exploding back aft,The sailor behind me took the brunt of the blast which saved me. If I remember only seven people survived and I was taken to Truro hospital.I am now 93 and in fairly good health.
