I was in Ipswich. Worked at Ransom, Simms and Jeffries, at the bottom of our garden, we could see the German Pilots on the way to bomb the docks. I was heavily pregnant and walking down the stairs, I felt a presence guiding me down the stairs to safety under the table, for protection from the things crashing down about me. I was really terrified. After getting under the table I felt a strange calm. An incendiary bomb had dropped in our garden, next door neighbour shouted " Come on back and put your own incendiary bomb out."
My husband and I survived and were married 63 years
