I am emailing to ask if you knew that there is an excellent hardback book containing over 100 personal accounts of Dunkirk, including one by my father (Eric George Reginald Bazeley).
It is called 'We Remember Dunkirk'
It was compiled by Frank and Joan Shaw, and was published by Echo Press, Hinkley, in 1990.
It also has wonderful photographs of the veterans and of Dunkirk.
All proceeds went to the British Legion.
Printed by Echo Press 1990
ISBN = 1 8727779 00X
My dear father was taken off the beaches on his 22nd birthday on May 31st.
He suffered with spondylitis brought on by his stint standing up to his neck in water, but after hospitalisaion, he carried on active duty and later served in Africa, Egypt and Palestine, reaching the rank of Major. Sadly he died of cancer in 1990, but his vivid account lives on in this book, as do 99 others!
