D Day at Wormingford air base

my mother in law worked for the American red cross and was based at wormingford air base near Colchester.I went to visit her one Sunday and was not allowed to leave the airbase untill the next day because all the planes were ready for the invasion at the airbase.We heard them go throuigh the night and were then allowed off the base the next morning.We found out afterwards this was D day.
