To My Friend at the Front
The front of the postcard reads:
To My Friend at the Front
I don’t know where you are old man,
But I guess you’re somewhere right.
Giving a good account of yourself,
Perhaps in the thick of the fight.
I don’t know how you fare old chap,
But I guess you’re getting along
T’is a deuce of a job you’ve got to beat,
And I reckon you’re going it strong.
T’is but a word of cheer I send,
But I wish it straight and true,
And I hope you’ll soon be back again,
With our Kings “Best Thanks” to you.
The words on the back of the postcard read:
Words on postcard home:
To George From Tom
To Ernie and George, with my best love and kisses from somewhere in France, and be good ‘til I come back.
Ernie xxxx
George xxxx
