My parents passed on many years ago , my farther said little about the war, but a story was told to us about my father being Monty’s Batman, and had use of the land rover/jeep.
One weekend he nipped home to see my mother while on duty (the reason was never told to us) The Landover was parked outside my mothers home over night with a copy of the D-DAY landings on the back seat. All best his son Bernie.
