My grandfather was living in Taiwan when the war started. He was born there. Then the Japanese invaded the country and he had to move to Japan and be away from his family. He must have felt very sad when he had to move away from his family. When he went to Japan, he was to learn the language (Japanese), and learn to grow up like a Japanese boy. I’m not sure what happened after he went there, but I do know he went on to become a professor at a very famous college in Japan. He adjusted very well in Japan and made the best out of his misfortunate. He is now retired and lives back in Taiwan. He is now 70 something years old. He is very happy now as well. Sometimes he still talks in Japanese with his old friends, and writes letters to them. His time in Japan was a very important part of his life, and he will remember it forever.
