I remember Speedwell in Bristol when during the war Speedwell chapel was bombed and at least 6 people were killed.

Mrs Rowe, whose house was next door to the chapel, was killed and a huge crater caused by the bomb was left close to her house, then the morning after, in darkness a bus drove into the crater and some people were hurt.

Some of people who stayed in church during the bombing were saved.

As little boys we used to collect toys when shops had been bombed!
