Bombing Raid, London. 1943.

My Mother, my youngest brother Ted, and myself were at home and Mum had decided that this time we were going to play cards.

During the game (Newmarket) Ted who was six foot tall suddenly saw a monster spider crawling across the floor, and promptly jumped up on his chair andn yelled at my mother to kill it.

It won't hurt you she said, then she hit it with something shovelled it up and put it on the fire, saying it's proberbly one of Hitlers. To which I screamed.."He's not dropping THOSE on us now is he???!"
