I need help with this one, i can contact family later.
One of my uncles who was born in wales but moved to cork with my granfather, was a despatch rider in france for the british army.
He drove into a bomb hole in the road and broke both his legs.
The french resistance rescued him and he hid in a french nunnery for the rest of the war.
My grand parents were having a rememberence service for him in the local church of ireland, when he walked into the church and asked my grandmother who was dead ( the one in the box).
Apparently she fainted.
If there are ny other irish stories I would like to hear from people, my father was in the medical core and told stories that gave everybody nightmares.
So humourous ones please.
A few stories about Bair Mane would be good as I lived across the road from him in Northern Ireland.
So if you think mu story is interesting I will follow it up.
Kind regards David Forbes
