This story was submitted to the People's War site by Shankill Library on behalf of Mrs Edith McCormack, nee Hagan, and has been added to the site with her permission.

I attended St. Mark's School at Ligoniel(North Belfast) during the war. We used to use the air-raid shelter in the street which was built from red bricks.
I was evacuated to a farm in Dunloy for several months where I helped to look after the hens.
One of my brothers served in the army during the war.
