| | Dere Street Roman Road, Soutra Beside Soutra Aisle, just off the A68, 73 NT 452 580 The Roman's built roads across the south of Scotland to service their forts and the Antonine Wall. Here at Soutra a fine section of Roman road known as Dere Street is preserved. It ran from Hadrian’s Wall at Corbridge to the Roman fort and port at Crammond on the Forth. Along the side of the road are pits that supplied the gravel used in it's construction. |

| | Roman Bridge Strathclyde Country Park, 3366 Hamilton Road, Motherwell, The park is located between junction 5 and Junction 6 on the M74 Access is on the A725 or A73. Bridges were another Roman feat of engineering unknown in Iron Age Scotland. One of them has survived where the roman road crosses the Clyde, near Motherwell. |
