How do I use this map?

• You can browse the map in three ways:
• - By clicking on the coloured 'teardrops' on the map
• - By clicking on the trail titles in the right hand column and then selecting the 'fact file' you would like to view.
• - By following the 'next' arrows in the open fact files

The map is taking a long time to load or there are delays in the map images appearing.

• The mapping interface for this application is supplied by Google, which is one of several mapping partners the BBC is working with at the moment. You may experience occasional delays while viewing maps, but hopefully this will not prevent you from making full use of them. The map interface will work best with browsers Internet Explorer 6+; Netscape 7.1+; Firefox 0.8+; Safari 1.2.4+; Mozilla 1.4+; Opera 8.02+. It is recommended you use a broadband connection. A text-only version is in preparation and will be launched shortly.

An alert message says 'we don't not have map imagery at this zoom level'.

• The map interface is supplied by Google. Maps are not available for all scales and all locations. If you see the message 'we don't not have map imagery at this zoom level', try zooming out.

The fact files are not loading properly, or the map is not jumping to the correct location.

• This error sometimes occurs if you double-click on the teardrops. Use a single click.
