A medieval gold finger-ring
Found in Gedney, Lincolnshire, by Mrs Joanna Birdseye while searching with a metal detector.
An elaborate gold finger-ring. The hoop is fashioned into two gloved hands which terminate in a lovers' knot. The undulating hoop contains a scroll at the back which carries an amatory inscription; this is difficult to read, but begins AMO ----.
