The well is situated in Malvern Wells, at the junction of the Wells Road (A449) and Grundy's Lane.

It was built in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee.

The well is on land originally owned by the Diocese of Worcester.

Malvern Hills District Council put a warning on all the wells saying that the water should be boiled before drinking.
