Use A & Z to zoom in out. | - The town dates from the 7th Century, and its name may derive from Leofric, Earl of Hereford and husband to Lady Godiva.
- In 1461 the decisive battle of the Wars of the Roses, the battle of Mortimers Cross, took place a few miles from the town.
- The Priory church contains the last ducking stool to be used in England.
- The town itself still has beautiful narrow streets and many half timbered buildings.
