Help playing audio/video Aura are a four-piece rock band from Worcestershire, featuring Dave Small on vocals, Jamie Guggenheim on guitar, Blake Probert on bass, and Jesse Garcia on drums. Within their first year of being in a band together, they had the opportunity to support the likes of Hayseed Dixie and Wishbone Ash. ![]() Aura Their debut five-track EP was recorded with music guru Gavin Monaghan at Magic Garden Studios (The Editors, Scott Matthews, The Twang) and from that were featured on BBC Midlands Today and our sister show BBC WM Introducing... Help playing audio/video Aura's biggest claim to fame was supporting rock legends Status Quo at Dudley Castle before 5,000 people in the fall of 2007. Vocalist Dave Small explains how the opportunity came around: "It all started, really, when we did a gig at Stourport Rock Cafe. In the audience were two guys who were running the Status Quo gig. They saw us and they were looking for a young support act to get the crowd going for the Quo. ![]() At Dudley Castle, 2006 "It was by far the biggest crowd. For me, personally, it felt nothing other than right! It was a brilliant venue - brilliant sound. It rained a bit but you know! "But we've been gigging as much as possible, from pretty much in people's living rooms to the Quo gig." Sadly on Friday 28 March 2008 the band officially announced they were splitting up because of "irreconcilable differences". You can listen to all the latest music from across the two counties on the Friday Session Introducing... every week from 7pm, on BBC Hereford & Worcester.last updated: 19/02/2009 at 23:01 Have Your SayHave you seen Aura live?
