I remember my first gig at the Malvern Winter Gardens - it was supposed to be ELO in, I suppose, about 1974. However, they cancelled that night (I think they were on Top of the Pops) and were replaced by an appalling local band called Dickens. We still went as we'd all been looking forward to our first gig so much. ![]() Thin Lizzy's Phil Lynott Other highlights:ARGENT: I remember Russ Ballard having a Fender Stratocaster with holds drilled in the body which he would chuck into the air (and catch) at the end of the set. THIN LIZZY: Always a treat at Malvern Winter Gardens as they genuinely seemed to like playing there. I remember the flashing police lamps on the speaker stacks during the Jailbreak tour.
