James Rousseau grew up in Much Marcle in Herefordshire, and went to Malvern College. He was also head chorister at Abberley Hall Prep School, before moving to the USA. He now lives and works in New York. To Make You Mine was inspired by his girlfriend, the Hollywood actress Kate Bosworth.
