While the club's pitch is fine, but the dressing rooms, offices, kitchens and bar have to be completely revamped, after record summer floods swept across the Midland Combination Clubs homely ground. They have also lost all the records and paper-work that were kept in the club offices.. Pershore Chairman Colin Shepherd told BBC Hereford and Worcester the Town were determined to battle on;
"The club is devastated. "We have a function room and bar, and we can't use any of those for events, and the changing rooms are contaminated, so there's no chance of using those. "The pitch is fine, but with no toilets and dressing rooms it's impossible to play games here at the moment. "We are in a desperate situation-we may or may not open before Christmas." The Club estimate they will have to pay out a quarter of a million pounds to put everything right, and that's without the money they have lost through having no revenue from the bar, function room and spectators coming to watch games. Mr Shepherd, a former player and manager, of the club says the costs could be even higher: "We feel that it may be closer to £300,000, and at the moment we don't know about the floodlights, as the cost could go higher if we have to replace all the electrical works. ![]() No events at Pershore in the near future "We have had a loss adjuster in, and he will now report to the insurance company, but until we get a report from them we can't do anything at all." Three clubs from Pershore have offered the Town facilities to use, but they can't raise any funds as they simply don't have anywhere to put on events. Pershore will play their home game against Pilkington at Malvern Town's Ground on Tuesday 14 August, and then play at 'home' at Alveston on Saturday 18 August, but as Mr Shepherd points out, they have no income at all at the moment, and he's appealed for as many supporters as possible to come along to games. last updated: 14/08/07 SEE ALSOYou are in: Hereford and Worcester > Sport > More sport > Pershore Town hit by floods
