Flood Hero: Helpful Neighbours

Despite their own home being flooded, the Keen Family set out to help others affected by the rising waters.

Despite their own home being flooded, the Keen family helped their neighbours with moving furniture, and then subsequently clearing out ruined carpets and other items.

They attempted to limit damage from raw sewage by setting up pumps at several properties, working until 10pm.

They also attempted to alleviate the flooding in Defford Road and helped several other elderly neighbours with the lifting of heavy items.

They have remained a constant source of comfort and advice for all neighbours, young and old.

Their kind and generous nature has been so much appreciated at this time - a model family and an inspiration for this day and age in Britain.

Nominate your hero or heroine from the July floods - someone who went out of their way to help someone in trouble.
