Flood Hero: Stranded Overnight

Ann had to stop over with a friend, while her friend's husband was stranded with her kids at Evesham school.

I stayed at work too long and missed getting back home.

As I had got through Defford, I thought I would get back to Evesham via Eckington on to the Bredon - Beckford road.

But it was the other side of Eckington that was flooded - not the bridge. So I decided to sit and wait in Eckington for the rain to stop.

There was a knock on the window of the car and Tracie Hickie invited me in for a cup of tea.

I re-tuned her radio to BBC Hereford & Worcester and she then contacted her husband, who was trying to get the girls back from Evesham school.

They, in the end, turned around and went back to school for the night.

Tracie fed me, and gave me a bed for the night.

I wish to nominate her to represent all the folks that did similar things during that long wet weekend.

Nominate your hero or heroine from the July floods - someone who went out of their way to help someone in trouble.
