The Malvern Sea Cadet Unit opened its doors as an emergency evacuation centre. Its volunteer staff and supporters looked after over 100 people on Friday night, brought there by the emergency services. They were given a hot meal, hot drinks, dry clothing and a place to grab some sleep. Thanks to your broadcasts, and police information, they could also advise the guests as soon as routes opened up on Saturday how they could complete journeys home. I would just like to say a big 'thank you' to Bob Thomas, the Chairman, and all the volunteers, without whom we would not have this youth organisation, and the facilities at Malvern Sea Cadets. last updated: 27/07/07 SEE ALSOYou are in: Hereford and Worcester > Features > Flood heroes > Flood Hero: Malvern Sea Scouts |
