A brand new festival will be taking place at Clyro Court near Hay-on-Wye on 18-20 August, to replace the Green Man, which has now moved to Brecon.

It's the first time the organisers of A Rum Do have put on a three-day event, following its formation at the Edinburgh Festival and successful sell-out cabaret shows in Bristol during the last 12 months.

Acts on stage include Quantic and Dubrovnik - both from Worcestershire, Skitz and Rodney P from BBC 1Xtra, Les Bubb from the Harry Potter films, Rufus Hound from "Vorderman's Big Brain Game" on Sky One, and Fred Deakin from Lemon Jelly.

Camping will be available on site. Tickets for the weekend cost £85 per adult, and are available by calling 08700 600 100.

Richard, who's one of the organisers of the event says: "We know a lot of other festivals tip their hat to cabaret and performing arts - festival goers usually wander into a tent, see a single act and walk out.

"It's all a bit hit or miss in our view, rather like a lot of random atoms meandering all over the place.

"We like to gather all the atoms in one place, create a real buzz of performance and then... Release! It makes for a great party at the end."
Richard, one of the three organisers

"We like to gather all the atoms in one place, create a real buzz of performance and then… Release! It makes for a great party at the end.

"We will encourage people to dress for the evening performances, and if they forget their glad rags, we've got some they can hire for the night.

"Another luxury is that we have the Crystal Palace Spiegaltent as one of the main cabaret venues - I don't know if you're au-fait with Spiegaltents, but if you're not, consider walking around a field for a while then wandering into a big ballroom - wooden floors, mirrors, stained glass, comfort, posh bar, waited table service - it's just lovely."

The event takes place in the historic grounds of Baskerville Hall, built in 1839 by Thomas Mynors Baskerville for his second wife, Elisabeth.

It was there where Arthur Conan Doyle had the inspiration to write the famous ‘Hound of the Baskervilles’.

As well as setting up tent and caravans, campers will also be able to hire Beach Huts, Tipi's and even a double-decker bus kitted out as living accommodation.

Camper Van Tickets cost £25; Sunday Day Tickets £35; 0-14 Years free; 14-16 years £65; 16+ years £85.

The festival begins on Friday 18 August and BBC Hereford & Worcester's Friday Session will broadcasting live from the event.

So join Andrew and Dan on 94.7FM, 104FM, 104.4FM, 104.6FM, 738AM & 1584AM between 7-9pm. You can also hear the programme by clicking on the listen live/listen again button on the right hand side of this page.

I just wanted to write and say a massive thank you to all the organisers at Arumdo for a truly marvellous festival! Brilliant acts, lovely people, great food and a breathtaking setting - even the torrential rain couldn't dampen our spirits. Please, please do another one next year and we'll bring everyone we know. We've already been singing your praises to all those people looking for a festival experience to rival the Big Chill. Hope to see you all again next year.

it rained all weekend and the locals complained about the noise...we were all very annoyed as the main acts were moved indoors but access was limited so we couldn't so or hear the headliners...gutted...a wrong do...
