The BBC's now launched an exciting new service just for Herefordshire and Worcestershire and we're looking for local people and organisations to get involved by sending in their short videos to perhaps appear on television! We have a new team of ‘video journalists’ who will be covering news, entertainment and events across our two counties using a local TV service called 'BBC Hereford and Worcester TV'. This new service is in addition to the regional television programmes shown by 'Midlands Today'. BBC Hereford and Worcester TV will be available on digital satellite via the ‘red button’ and also on broadband from bbc.co.uk/hereford or bbc.co.uk/worcester Other areas within the West Midlands will also have their own ‘Local TV’ service especially for them. BBC Hereford and Worcester TV could also be your chance to get your name in lights, as we also want to show short videos made by you. Many people across Herefordshire and Worcestershire are very creative, so if you, your community group, school, college, or any other organisation, has made a short film, and would like to get involved in this exciting project, we want to hear from you! What we’re looking for Your film could be about anything - as long as it's not your holiday video from Spain! It may be about your favourite place in our two counties, or a person you admire, it might be a local issue that you're concerned about or it could even be a short drama or an animated film. The video may have been edited in your school or college media centre, or even at home - it doesn't matter – we just want to see your creativity. Your film needs to be no more than 5 minutes, and we may have to edit your material. We can't promise it'll get on TV, but we'd love to see what budding film makers in Herefordshire and Worcestershire have been doing – and you never know it could be your film starring on the TV screen! If you want your film on the BBC, please send a copy (NOT the original) on VHS or DV tape to: My Film BBC Hereford and Worcester Television Hylton Road Worcester WR2 5WW Don't forget to include your name, address, telephone number and a few words about why you made your film. By sending us the film you are agreeing to its potential use on BBC television, radio or online. We look forward to hearing from you! |
