Pudsey's new look

He's been the BBC Children In Need mascot for more than 20 years, and now Pudsey Bear has a new look for 2007. Find out more about the famous charity bear.

Pudsey Bear has been an important part of the BBC Children in Need campaign for more than 20 years.

Pudsey made his debut in 1985, and has appeared with countless celebrities ever since.

He's now the BBC Children in Need's mascot, official logo and a registered trademark.

Royalties from the sale of all Pudsey merchandise benefit the charity.

In his first major redesign since he became the charity's official logo in 1986, the cuddly bear has been rejuvenated for the digital age.

The new look is part of the BBC Children in Need's latest fundraising campaign, called 'Do Something Different'.

This theme reflects the imaginative and energetic and fundraising activities, which take place in the days and weeks leading up to Children in Need day.

On Friday 16 November thousands of people around the UK - from BBC newsreaders, to school children and businesses, all do something a little bit unusual to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people.
