The Tennyson Trail

Advice:This part of the Tennyson Trail is a reasonably easy walk with some steep hilly sections.
In Brief:The whole trail is a challenging 15 miles long, from Carisbrooke Castle, Newport, to The Needles, this walk is just the last leg of the trail.
Start:A3055 from (Car Park at Brook Bay) or B3401 from Newport.
Points of interest:The Tennyson Monument, Farringford House (now a hotel) where Alfred Lord Tennyson lived for almost 40 years from 1853, The Needles Battery, whoich overlooks the Needles, it was constructed between 1861-95 as a defence against French invasion.
