Alderney, the third largest of the Channel Islands has a unique culture and way of life.  Bermuda emerged from the sea on the summits of submerged volcanic mountain ranges.  There are no rivers on any of the Islands but there are large areas of luxuriant vegetation.  The Falkland Islands are a British Crown Colony in the South Atlantic 8,000 miles from Britain.  The Faroe Islands are situated in the North Atlantic 430 km south-east of Iceland.  Froya neighbours Hitra and both islands are situated off the coast of Central Norway.
