Results from the 2008 Guernsey Deputies election for the Vale District.

Vale Election Facts

In 2008:

  • There were 5,651 people on the electoral roll
  • This was 446 (9%) more than in 2004
  • 12 candidates stood for the seven seats

In 2004:

  • 11 candidates stood for the seven seats
  • 17,308 votes were cast
  • 3,521 people voted
  • This was 68% of those registered
  • Voters used an average of 4.9 votes

Elected Deputies and number of votes:

Unsuccessful Candidates and number of votes:

3,392 or 60.06% of voters on the electoral roll turned out to vote.
A total of 17,474 votes were cast.
There were no blank papers, five spoilt papers and on average 5.2 votes were cast.

Four of the five standing deputies were re-elected to the house with Brian de Jersey losing his seat. First time candidate Matt Fallaize topped the poll and will be joined in the chamber by newcomers Tony Spruce and Andrew Le Lievre.

The elected candidates will be sworn into the Guernsey States at the meeting on 1 May.
