St Peter Port North Election Facts

In 2008:

  • There were 4,476 people on the electoral roll
  • This was 585 (15%) more than in 2004
  • 14 candidates stood for the seven seats

In 2004:

  • 15 candidates stood for the seven seats
  • 10,850 votes were cast
  • 2,227 people voted
  • This was 58% of those registered
  • Voters used an average of 4.9 votes

2,196 or 49.16% of voters on the electoral roll turned out to vote.
A total of 11,134 votes were cast.
There was one blank papers, six spoilt papers and on average 5.1 votes were cast.

Four of the five standing deputies were re-elected to the house with Wendy Morgan missing out. The two unsuccessful candidates from the 2004 election were again unsuccessful.

The elected candidates will be sworn into the Guernsey States at the meeting on 1 May.
