Are you fed up with the States? Have they lost touch with the electorate. I am committed to put this right.

States Expenditure

I support a proper system of capital and revenue prioritisation. With major expenses on sewage & waste disposal, sea defenses, etc. an enormous amounts of money is needed. The business plan is the way forward and we must ensure that funding is directed in a structured way to avoid having to borrow money or increase taxes. An alternative would be to introduce a Guernsey Bond that Islanders could purchase knowing that these monies are being put to a specific use.

Housing

Young people must have access to affordable homes. Self-build and affordable homes should be created on a lease-purchase scheme involving private partnership, thus minimising the amount of capital needed to be raised by the States. Investigate the construction of more retirement homes as our ageing population. I would like to serve on the Housing Dept. and pursue these ideas with vigour.

Environment

Tidal power generating units is an excellent concept for Guernsey as soon as the new turbines are economically viable.

Economy

Our community has become complacent about the economy over the last decade. Financial services have driven growth, providing well remunerated jobs either directly or indirectly. Guernsey cannot afford to remain complacent about future economic growth given the global competition for financial services. Continued support of the finance, insurance and e-commerce industry must remain but we must also support the self-employed and small business units by creating new areas for them.

Education and new schools

I support the proposed new schools development at Les Beaucamps & La Mare de Carteret Schools.

I support Island wide voting and electronic voting in the States.

If elected I would listen to as many views as possible.
