I'm concerned that recent decisions by the States will be detrimental to our future way of life. I follow debates, read the Billets, and keep up to date on currant affairs. With your vote, I can make a difference.

The States must use our money from a balanced economy, wisely, to plan for the future and look after our Society. Freedom of information legislation will ensure responsible, accountable and open Government.

My priorities. A good education at local schools, good health facilities, better social service provision for elderly and mentally ill people. I want public participation in planning issues that affect our island landscape, best practice followed for waste disposal, including, reducing, reusing, recycling, treatment of sewage, long term planning for sea defences and to upgrade the runway to cater for today’s small transport jets.

We are independent, thrifty, hard working people with wide ranging interests. We are not Guernsey Ltd. whose sole purpose lies in profit margins. Established and new companies should be here for reasons that suit us and to contribute towards the upkeep of our public services. Zero-10 tax places an unfair burden on Islanders. I will support proposals to make it broader. Control of our autonomy and legislation and a strong Island identity within the international community is vital to protect our Finance Industry against future EU and OECD adverse directives.

Our dense population must not increase. Schemes to get people back into work can be initiated, tax incentives for pensioners, subsidized nurseries, flexible hours for mothers, local people encouraged to return.

I am local and determined that we are treated fairly, that our Environment, traditions, way of life are protected and that the economy is sufficient to meet our needs for the future.
