Day ReleasePlaying recent, decent, covers of bands like Foo Fighters, Oasis and The Automatic, Day Release made their live debut at the 2007 Greenman MCC Chaos Weekend. Who Are They?Jim Wyatt - Lead Vocals Adam Norman - Guitar ![]() Jim Wyatt. Dave Darlington - Bass Tristan "Tricky" Robilliard - Guitar Andy Robinson - Drums Band HistoryFor most of the band members this is the first time at having a serious go at a band. Adam was looking for something to do with a band in 2006 and when he heard Jim sing Tenacious D's 'F**k her Gently' at the IOW Festival Campsite they thought they'd give starting a band a try. They heard Dave was starting out on bass and would be interested, and whilst looking for a practice venue when the spare room at Adam's got too small, they found Wicksy was available to join after the rolling up of Plan B as well as give us access to a bunker. When they realised the need for the flexibility and depth of 2 guitarists Wicksy suggested Tricky and fortunately Tricky turned out to be a great guitarist completing the line up in September 2006. After a bit of a "ropey" performance and sound issues at the Harbour Carnival Day Release were determined to improve. Practice harder and work at gelling better as a band. ![]() Day Release. In august 2007 drummer Wicksy left the band due to outside commitments and was replaced by Andy Robinson who also plays drums for FireFly. They play recent decent rocking covers from Foo Fighters, Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs, The Fratellis and The Automatic and more! The FutureThey intend to Gig... Anywhere that wants a band who'll play more recent rocking covers than the many of the other local cover bands do. Their Favourite GigAdam says: "Whilst we have been building up a full nights set, we have been getting a couple of supports sets which have been great and also a couple of brilliant gigs at Sylvans to give us practice at playing full nights. "But our First gig at the Hampshire Lodge between Christmas and New Year has to be our best so far! It was packed! In the words of the landlord - we couldn't have fit another person in, and what's great is it stayed like that all night through the gig! "What people could find there way through to any space left on the dance floor made the most of it! "But that's how we'd always like our last gig to be! Keep it better than the one before! We'll also try and keep bringing in fresh new songs so we don't bore our audience and oursleves one gig to another." last updated: 14/10/2008 at 11:13 SEE ALSOYou are in: Guernsey > Unsigned Bands > Cover Bands > Day Release |
