Band History

The band formed from ex-members of Guernsey metal stalwarts Silkinfly and Bindweed, with Jack and Josh from Silkinfly and Seann who had been in the UK at drum tech from Bindweed.

They decided that they wanted to start a band just playing original material and started writing in March 2005. The band then recruited Luke Vidamour on bass.

After playing a few gigs with that line up they decided that one guitarist was restricting the sound for the style of music they wanted to play so Luke switched to playing guitar alongside Josh and James, the bands youngest member, was brought in on bass.

The band kept writing material from there until they had 7 songs of which they decided to record with Danny Joyce at the end of 2005 to form their debut album 'Bury These Thoughts' which was released in July 2006.

In summer 2007 the band made a music video with director Jason Oxley and Better Than Petrol productions, which can be viewed here...

Also in July 2007 the band parted ways with Luke Vidamour due to various reasons including location, the band said that:

"Luke will be thoroughly missed and we will always remember he's played a big part in the evolution of MLV and the good times we've shared on stage and wish him luck with his future endeavours in the world of music, we're all moving onto bigger things, especially that boy!"

To replace Luke they brought in new rhythm guitarist Marc 'el scar' Le Cras.

Following the 2007 Vale Earth Fair the band relocated to Brighton in England to try and make it on a bigger stage.

In February 2008 My Last Victory announced they had amicably parted ways with rhythm guitarist Marc Le Cras and new second lead guitarist Dave Trees had been recruited.

That same weekend saw their long awaited second CD, 'Destruction For A Better World' materialise which expands the sound of their previous release into more epic metal territories.

In March 2008 the band got their first piece of national recognition when they were named MySpace band of the month in a top European guitar magazine, guitarist Josh Fletcher spoke to BBC Guernsey's David Earl about it...

The Future

My Last Victory are currently gigging in Brighton and are hoping to continue doing so while building on the reputation they have already established in the Channel Islands.

But most importantly to them is to just have some good experiences and a good time playing to a new audience. They just want a get a chance to be heard by as many people as possible.

Their Favourite Gig

Josh said: "Our favourite gig was probably the album launch where the gig was all about us and it was good to see so many people turn up and enjoy what we were doing. We had good feedback from it so we were really happy."
