"This was my first experience of the Severn Bore so Im not in a position to make any comparisons but I was well impressed! My five year old daughter and I found a spot at Minsterworth and waited for half an hour for the Big Wave! Amazing It was just amazing to see it eventually approach around the corner and was much bigger than I expected, especially after hearing this week that it might only be rated as a three star rather than the four star initially predicted. So what was it, 3 or 4? As it got nearer, people rushed in front of me so I jumped down to the next bank below. I soon realised that if I didnt climb back up again I would get soaked. Despite the muddy and slippery bank, I made it just in time which meant that I was too busy to get any close shots! Four star But I can tell you, Ive got a picture of it right there in my mind! It had to be a four star bore! My daughter was a bit disappointed that none of the surfers present stood up on their board but I think she enjoyed it too! The weather was perfect for it, it attracted hundreds and hundreds of spectators and I cant wait for the next big one! Here are a couple of photos, not brilliant ones but you can see on the before and after shots, the sudden increase of the water level. Great phenomenon!"
