All we need to do now is encourage as many people as possible in Gloucestershire to take part in the competition. | | John Rockley |
Pudsey bear has come out of hibernation, a little earlier than usual, to launch his very own BBC Children In Need Photo Competition in this the 25th year of the charity. Special single use 'Pudsey' cameras have been produced, and budding photographers in and around Gloucestershire are being invited to participate in the competition whose theme is 'Life In My Place'. Really excited Pudsey's friend and BBC Radio Gloucestershire presenter John Rockley says: "Pudsey is really excited about the competition. He's really chuffed that a special single use camera has been produced with his picture on it! "Now we need to encourage as many people as possible in Gloucestershire to take part in the competition, which has the theme 'Life In My Place'. "Pudsey's competition really is open to everybody - it doesn't matter if you don't have lots of hi-tech equipment. "You don't need an expensive camera with loads of flashy features on it." Have fun "All the entrants have to use one of Pudsey's special cameras and the same processing facilities, so they're all on an equal footing. You don't have a be a photography expert - all that really matters is that you have fun! | | One of the entries we've recieved: "A colourful walk in the park" from Merlin Gibson in Stroud |
"A minimum of £1 for every Pudsey camera sold, including all profits, will go to the BBC Children In Need Appeal. It's simple really - the more people we can encourage to take part the more money goes to disadvantaged children in our area. What could be easier?" Special cameras Boots, one of BBC Children In Need's principal sponsors, is selling Pudsey's special cameras at their shops across the UK and has pledged all profits and a guaranteed £1 minimum for every camera sold will go to the BBC Children In Need Appeal. The cameras cost £6.99 including processing. Click here for more details of how to enter the BBC Children In Need Photo Competition.
