Dealing With Danger 3:The Final Chapter is the fifth film project by Gloucester-based Scott Clifford, martial artist and one-man movie industry.

Scott writes, directs and stars in this explosive revenge thriller, which premieres at the Gloucester Guildhall this weekend.

Alongside partner Lee Jones, he has produced what The Citizen described as "an ass kicking, rib splitting big night out of a movie", using a cast offriends and associates who gave their time for free.

The film, set on the mean streets of Gloucester, follows the efforts of heroes Baz and Bones to 'take down' villain Sonics.

Action

Director Scott is modest about his achievements.

"It started as a joke but now we've done a few we take it more seriously," he said.

"The films are extremely low budget, although we have had a little bit of sponsorship."

Scott's relative lack of finances meant that, unlike many cinema block-busters,he had to rely on pure action rather than special effects.

"When you haven't got any money you have to fight!" he said, although computer wizardry has allowed the team to include some explosive, Matrix-style special effects.

The soundtrack features material from local artists.

"We showed the film to (Gloucester hip hop act) No Morals Kru, and they went away and did some music for it," said Scott.

Freestyle

A media and cultural studies graduate, he explained his spontaneous approach to directing.

"I essentially write the whole thing but I like the idea of 'freestyleness'. We let people improvise a bit because then it sounds more natural."

Despite his obvious talent and enthusiasm, right now Scott's happy doing the films for pure enjoyment.

"Obviously I'd love to do it for a living if Steven Spielberg came and offered me a load of money, but at the minute I'm happy doing it just for the love and doing small screenings," he said.

Catch Scott's explosive new film at the Guildhall this Saturday April 24.
