Arrived 1969 left for Germany 1972. One of my best posting, playing rugby with some fantastic mates. Especially when we won the RAF CUP. I often wondered if the murels of that winning team were still on the Rugby Club Wall

14 sqn p.s.l.o. when security were being transferred to computer. The computer lived in a huge building at innsworth,I left in 1968 but have geat memories of my last posting. It was a marked change from guarding v. bombers and their weapons.

Shirley Hopperton (nee Mummery)
I was stationed at INNSWORTH with a lodger unit, dealing with aircrew training interviews, this was approx. in 1952-3. Further to my service at Innsworth, when the unit was disbanded, as only 3 or 4 WRAFS were there, we were posted to different other camps, one of mine was at the Min. of Def. in Whitehall. Memories. There was also RAF officers, who did the interviews, but we were all posted away.

After 30 years service and three visits to INNSWORTH on transit to overseas postings, I could not have believed that I would have moved to Gloucester (age 61) in 1990 and be living in a house 300 yards from the wooden huts that I was billeted in, in 1949,1956, & 1962.My only previous association with GLoucester was 69 - 70 at RAF Fairford when I had many dealings with Brian Trubshaw and Concorde.
