At the weekend Thornbury Town entertained Shortwood United and after going in 1-0 at half time, Thornbury looked to have thrown all the points away as they were losing 3-2 with only a few minutes to play. But a late equaliser for the home club meant that the points were shared in a 3-3 draw. Tehsin Hassan, Dan Lewis and Chris Thorne netted for Thornbury, Chris Underwood [2] and Charlie Benson got the goals for Shortwood. In the other weekend match there were even more goals when the high flying Winterbourne United played at home to a young but promising Wotton Rovers side. For Winterbourne Luke Mort, Tom Dailly [2] and Mitch Tippins got on the scoresheet, while Sam Iddles, Marcus Taylor and Sam Strickland did likewise for Wotton in a 4-3 win for Winterbourne. In midweek Yate Town closed in on leaders Forest Green Rovers after a 1-0 win against lowly Cadbury Heath. Yate's goal was scored by Scott Wooder. Elsewhere on the same night Longwell Green Sports went to Bristol Manor Farm but lost 2-0 to the home club who found the net through Rob Suker and Bradley Abraham. NOTE – Because there are only GFA Cup matches over the next week there will be no update before Sunday, 25th November.
