Cotswold Way becomes National Trail

A hundred mile path taking in some of Gloucestershire's most stunning scenery is officially recognised as a National Trail.

The Cotswold Way, which stretches from Bath in the South to Chipping Campden in the North, will now be protected by Natural England.

It's the 14th trail to be funded by Natural England and the classification means the long distance route will be promoted and protected for future generations.

Mark Cummings was talking about this on the BBC Radio Gloucestershire breakfast show.

Listening, was a man who has very recently run the whole thing in just less than 24 hours ...and a woman who fell asleep whilst walking it!
